Over a number of decades, Dale Schreuder has become an icon in the restaurant industry and in his time, he has been the operator of a wide variety of very successful eateries.
The original Dale’s Place started in Johannesburg in 1980, but after moving to Cape Town he reopened it in Table View. He owned and managed the restaurant up until 2004, when he had to sell it due to health reasons. After his recovery he owned and operated 3 very successful Black Angus Steakhouses in Johannesburg as well as other successful eateries in Durban and Cape Town.
He then opened Dale’s Black Angus Grill in 2009 in the Paddocks shopping Centre in Milnerton under a new guise and a fresh look. The focus of Dale’s Black Angus Grill is to infuse the sophistication of Dale’s Place with the essence of excellent steaks from the Black Angus breed and just like all his other restaurants, it focuses on quality, value and service.
The menu is varied and includes all the standard favourites as well as some new additions such as the home of the ‘special reserve 21’ ,Duck a’ la Orange, shank and BBQ pork loin ribs, to name but a few. The menu tries its best to cater for all tastes and nuances.
Dale’s Black Angus Grill is a large venue accommodating 90 diners in large dining room, 30 in the large bar area and an extra 100 guest on the outside terrace, where a great el fresco experience is to be had. It also has facilities upstairs for an 80 guest function as well as a private boardroom or dining area.
