Located in the Parow, Cape Town, the Tygerberg Hospital is the largest hospital in the Western Cape and the second largest in South Africa. It was founded in 1976 and acts as a teaching hospital for the Health Science Faculty of the Stellenbosch University.

Its main aim is to provide world class quality health care services to all its patients as well as offer excellent educational and research opportunities for its students and staff. The hospital strives to be the best academic hospital in Africa, providing their services to locals and foreigners.

The Tygerberg Hospital is a tertiary hospital therefore, patients need to be referred to by a primary or secondary health care facility, such as a clinic or doctor.
